Syncthing, free network system to rule them all

Syncthing network

Syncthing is a very useful network that can share and sync files from different OS like Windows, MacOS and Linux, and also Android and iPhone. It can create and manage networks local and via internet that is easy to setup, is a great combo for your own private cloud for music, movies and documents.

To use the Sycnthing you need a wrapper app or program that talk to the network. At their main website you can find different versions for almost any OS. (Download Page)

Android version

Why is SyncThing for Android is going away?, well seems that the new versions Google Playstore is having problems with the app in regards of file accessing, permissions, also the author Imsodin is leaving the project in frustration of dealing with Google and new rules that each version adds or removes, seems that December 24 is going to be the last version.

Is really sad, because I used for years this app to keep all my music and documents in my private cloud, and even share with other people no matter what system they have.

But there is hope, because a new app of the Syncthing-Fork is available in the F-Droid store.

Iphone/Ipad version

For Iphone there is an app in their store, called Möbius Sync but is not entirely free. But works in both Iphones and Ipads.

Usage within the Möbius Sync sandbox is free up to 20MB. Unlimited file sync, including files in other apps’ sanboxes is available for a one-time purchase.

Probably in the future I could made a tutorial, but also in YouTube there are plenty for each OS.
